We nurture every child and help them explore their potential as ethical and well-grounded human beings. We set high standards for academic learning while ensuring the whole child development of each one of our students in facing an ever-changing future, while learning to value and respect their own culture.
The Maalinyai School believes in a ‘positive disposition for learning’ among children, which combines the ability to learn with the self-motivation to learn. Our students learn how to learn through self-understanding that allows them to take control of their own learning. One of the fundamental beliefs of our school is to nurture every child as a leader, and to enable students to develop competences that prepare them for a continuously evolving world. These include compassionate living, making quality choices, collaboration, critical thinking, mindfulness, rigour, global awareness, etc.

The school’s academic session commences in the first week of April and concludes in March.

The Maalinyai school is a progressive school following the ICSE curriculum.

At The Maalinyai School, whole child development of students is one of the prime objectives of schooling. It implies development in all areas, i.e., cerebral, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual. Thus, our curriculum adopts a whole-child approach to learning; and enriches the CBSE curriculum by introducing an integrated, experiential, and inquiry-based approach to learning.

We observe a rolling admission procedure. It means if seats are available, a child can join the school at any time of the year.
For Nursery, the child must be at least 3 years old as on March 31 of the year in which the admission is sought in.

At The Maalinyai School, the world is the learning space. So, our curriculum encourages the blossoming of a child’s inner capacities to help them explore and appreciate the social and natural world they inhabit. It ensures continuity between children’s prior experiences in their family and community setting, and their learning at the School. The progression of learning builds on what children already know and can do—moving from the known to the unknown, from near to far, and from concrete to abstract.

Young children perceive and learn about the world primarily through the senses. They learn by interacting with concrete objects. While playing, they see, move, feel, smell, touch, and taste. Teaching aids help educators in providing a clear understanding of concepts and help in better engagement for students.

At The Maalinyai School, technology integration is a tool for learning. Thus, it takes up many forms — from teacher-led (effective use of technology tools to engage students in learning concepts) to student-led (collaborative learning, simulated experiments, or designing new prototypes). We have it in School as we are nurturing students to be ready for the changing needs of the world.

Nothing is extracurricular at The Maalinyai School, as all activities are integrated to give the child a well-rounded experience. Adopting this approach also helps overcome limitations posed by textbooks; and the mechanical regurgitation and retrieval of facts. Instead, we highlight the importance of creative, aesthetic, and novel ways of imagining, exploring, and knowing.
Performing and Visual Arts, Physical Education, House Activities, and various other activities are integral part of the teaching-learning process at Maalinyai.

We believe in an inclusive learning environment; and in incorporating the necessary steps that support and address the individual needs of every child, so that every student gets the opportunity to flourish. Open and honest discussions about differences, respect for people of all backgrounds and abilities are part of The Maalinyai School culture; and benefit everyone by fostering an environment where students and their families are valued for who they are.
As no two learners are alike, we create opportunities for students to learn and be assessed in a variety of ways. Our teachers implement a wide range of learning modalities (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, etc.) in designing instruction to provide support and accommodate all students.

Presently, the School is operational from Foundation to Class 8; and with each year, the next class is getting added.

The Maalinyai School began its journey under the banner and was empowered by Universal Learn Today, the learning division of the India Today Group. India Today group owns and manages Vasant Valley School, New Delhi. At present, we have a few academic consultants from Universal Learn Today who are our guide and mentor in our future journey ahead.

Our teachers meet the qualification criteria set by ICSE, and possess a sound knowledge of the developmental stages of children; as well as an in-depth understanding of the socio-cultural values, strengths, and challenges of their students.

Our curriculum is aligned with the ICSE curriculum. An integrated approach to the learning of Languages, Math, and Understanding our World, along with co-curricular areas like Visual and Performing Arts and Physical Education enriches our curriculum.

The Maalinyai School believes in a continuous assessment and feedback system; and conducts both formal and informal assessments.

The School focuses on not just scholastic domains like reading and Math, but our students also explore Music and the Arts, a variety of enrichment activities, as well as a range of activities for social and emotional learning.
All these activities contribute towards helping children receive a well-rounded education.
But children need enough time to learn — to build the skills and knowledge required to work and thrive; and therefore, at The Maalinyai School we have an extended day plan for our students.

Yes, the school has a transport facility outsourced to supervise and provide transport for its students.

A tour of the School can be arranged during school hours. However, stepping inside the classroom while a lesson is going on will not be possible.
