Basant Panchami
Basant Panchami is a festival to welcome the spring season in India. Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music, and art is worshipped in some states. She symbolizes creative energy and power in all its forms, including longing and love. Just like nature is turning into bright shades, may your life turn into happy shades too. We hope it brings forth knowledge, wealth and success for you. \r\nJoyous Basant Panchami wishes 2023 to all!

Republic Day Celebration
तुमि विद्या, तुमि धर्म तुमि हृदि, तुमि मर्म,\r\nत्वं हि प्राणा: शरीरे, वन्दे मातरम् ||\r\nYou are the embodiment of Knowledge. You are Dharma. You are Love. You are the Essence. You are the life force in the body. I bow down to thee, mother.\r\nOur beloved Bankim Chandra ji salutes our motherland by singing praises to her and why not; India has raised such heroes who have protected her by sacrificing their lives. This year when we had Republic Day and Saraswati Puja on the same day, we couldn’t be happier as we got an opportunity to worship both the “Shakti’s” in one form. The goddess of wisdom is an embodiment of knowledge and shows the path of dharma, only if one truly acquires knowledge in its truest and purest forms then hasn’t our country given us the right to education given by our Constitution which paves the way to one religion which is humanity. The spring festival is the festival of love when we celebrate music and poetry, then isn’t the rush of blood in our bodies singing the same song of love to our motherland? Indeed, goddess Saraswati is the essence of “self” as she embodies speech, then isn\'t our country the essence of life in us? And thus, we got the opportunity to bow down to both our motherland and to Goddess Saraswati together which just doubled the celebration. We started with the unfurling of the flag which was accompanied by a dance performance on Saraswati Vandana and a patriotic mashup song along with enchanting shlokas by the students of Prep 2, classes 4,6,7, and 8. The program concluded with a special message from our Academic head.\r\nHere are a few glimpses from the event.

Activity Based Learning
Good Communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity - Nat Turner. \r\nKeeping this in mind The Maalinyai School thought of something which would engage children in a good communication activity where they would speak, explain and answer the questions being asked through a wonderful activity - Around The World in which the students of class 7 and 8 participated enthusiastically. This activity aimed at enriching the speaking skills of children with a whole lot of entertainment for them. This activity required them to choose a country, research and speak about the history and origin of the country and cook one popular dish that belonged to the country. This activity also got integrated with social science and arts, as children did a lot of craft work to decorate their stalls and their files too. It also aimed at making them confident as they are sometimes stage shy. They also cooked a recipe, which made them realise that cooking is not only a life skill but an art. They spoke about their country, answered questions asked by the visitors to the exhibition. Here are a few pictures from the event.

CHRISTMAS FEST 2022
Christmas isn\\\'t a season, it\\\'s a feeling. - Edna Ferber.\\r\\n It was surely a Christmas to remember at The Maalinyai School. The school wore a festive look with bells, streamers, and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The theme of the event was \\\"LEARN & EARN WITH FUN\\\". Several activities such as games and food stalls were installed for the children but with a twist. This time they played to earn tokens which they utilized for buying food and hand-crafted Santas, snowmen Christmas trees, and Christmas cards. From Foundation to class 8 participated in certain dance and song performances and the children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus through a skit prepared by Prep 2. The children of classes 5 to 8 also assisted the teachers in setting up the stalls and selling the stuff prepared. The spirit of giving and sharing was inculcated among the tiny tots throughout the program by our anchors. The essence of Christmas came alive when Santa Clause himself walked around the children. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around distributing sweets to them. The delightful celebration included children coming in red and white colour party dresses, bringing their favourite food to lunch, dancing, and sharing the merriment together.\\r\\nTake a peak at the fun we’ve had this morning!
